Our Store!

Hi everyone! I thought I’d better get this posted before I forget. There have been several medical crises going on either in our family or with my personal care aide (she is family!). Whew! Hopefully things calm down soon.

I’ve participated in the Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap. This photo was taken by Sheila Delgado.  Sheila’s blog about my art  She got one of my cards! I know it’s too large but the way to fix it isn’t showing up! I’m sorry.

New Class Announcement and A Possible Change

Hello again! I hope your weather is as gorgeous as ours has been! I’ve taken a few photos that I’ll share with you shortly, but first, I’d like to ask you a question and I really hope you will leave your responses in the comments below.

Would you prefer this blog stay as it is, with only news of new classes and tangles? Or would you like it if it’s a bit more personal, with other photos (like those below) or comments about my experiences or about my family, etc? I would still talk primarily about Zentangle but there would be more elaborate and more of my life in it. It’s up to you, my dear reader! Let your voice be heard!

Please check the Events page at the top or side of this page. It tells about the next class offered, Holiday Gems. They are also referred to as ZenGems. You’ll learn how or draw two different kinds of gems as well as learning a new tangle or more. Call (276)596-0602 right away if interested as class is filling fast!

The class is held at a dear little church in North Tazewell, VA in the fellowship hall. It has plenty of room, feels good in the room, and is easy to find (There’s a house between the church and the North Tazewell Post Office.) We’ll be having lots of classes there in the near future as well as the Blue Mountain Mercantile in Downtown Bluefield, WV.

Speaking of a class in the church, we had one just this past Saturday and it was a lot of fun! Here are some photos from the class …

These are the tiles drawn by each artist, each one unique – One of a Kind!
The New Artists! L-R Wanda Partyka, Anita O. McGraw, Deb Linkous, Lynne Bartlett, Loren Morris and Renae Matney

Please don’t forget to leave a comment below,  responding to my question about this blog: Would you like it to have more about my life i.e. photos and news, or strictly Zentangle with no personal info?

Now some local color…

Keep Tangling to keep your mind and heart UNtangled!

Recent Classes Were Such Fun!

I’m so frustrated that a month has passed since I last posted here! I think of the blog daily so I just need to get myself in gear. I really care about my readers and students, so don’t mistake my lack of posting for a lack of caring. I have taught two classes recently and both were so much fun. The first was a FUNdamentals beginner class of 10 students held in the North Tazewell United Methodist Church. Here are some photos from that day…

It's amazing how five strokes that we all use (when we write) turn into beautiful patterns!

The class mosaic. Everyone learned the same thing, with same instructions and look how different they are!. It's fascinating how each piece of art we draw is unique even if we use the same four tangles every time!

On July 28, I taught a class of my own design called The Secret Garden of Zentangles: Botanicals©, and there were 12 student who had completed the beginner course. They came from a variety of places: Tazewell, Grundy, Wytheville, Bluefield, Richmond and Mississippi! There was much joy and many “aha” moments, and I’m eager to teach that class again! It was the first time I had taught this class, and I wasn’t sure if the class could go as far as I had planned, but they were quick learners! I was able to teach 17 tangles!

Please check out the new page (see menu or list across the top) called TESTIMONIALS. If you see two pages, one works and one doesn’t 😟. I’ve tried everything I know to get rid of that bad page nod I give up.

Ah, well.  I’ll write more soon, and I mean that!!

Happy Tangling,

Two Tangles for the Price of One!

Yep, you read that right! Two tangles for the price of one. Normally, when drawing using the #14Shadesofgray technique, the “star” of the tile is a single Continue reading “Two Tangles for the Price of One!”
